Biografia de Testament
¿Quién es Testament? - Testament , es una banda de metal, creada en Berkeley, California, Estados Unidos, fundada en 1982 por Eric Peterson y su primo, también guitarrista, Derrick Ramirez. - - - Significado del nombre de Testament - Inicialmente el grupo se llamaba Legacy, cuando estaba integrado por los fundadores Eric Peterson y Derrick Ramirez, eventualmente su unieron al grupo Greg Christian, el baterista Mike Ronchette y el cantante Steve Souza, posteriormente fue sustituido Derrick Ramirez por el guitarrista Alex Skolnick. - - Lanzaron su primer demo en 1986, con cuatro canciones. Después del lanzamiento Ronchette dejo la agrupación y fue reemplazado por Louie Clemente. Luego de este cambio la banda tuvo un inconveniente por el nombre Legacy debido a que ya había un grupo registrado con este mismo nombre. - - - Inicios de Testament en la Música - - - - Trayectoria y Legado de Testament - El primer álbum en 1987 fue titulado The Legacy, por la disquera Megaforce Records, el mismo logro catapultarlos a la fama del metal, llegando a ser comparados con bandas como Bay Area y Metallica. - - Para 1988, lanzan su segundo álbum “The New Order”, continuando con el mismo estilo de primer producción, después del lanzamiento salieron se gira y participaron en eventos de metal. - - Después de participar en el tour Clash Of The Titans, lanzaron su tercer producción que estaba más inclinada hacia el heavy metal, pero manteniendo sus raíces de thrash metal. - - Despues de esto surgieron una serie de cambios en la banda, por descontentos entre los miembros del grupo se fueron algunos e ingresaron otros, como Sckolnick y Clemente que fue despedido, substituido en el mismo orden por Glen Alvelais y Paul Bostaph. - - Luego de este cambio lanzaron el disco “Return to the Apocalyptic City”, después de este lanzamiento se va Alvelais y Bostaph lo sustituye, y con este nuevo integrante lanzan el álbum “Low”, con el que inicia un cambio en el ritmo que siempre tenía la banda por groove metal. - - En 1995, lanzaron su propio sello Burnt Offerings, y con la incorporación del antiguo miembro y fundador Derrick Ramírez, susttuyendo al bajista Greg Christian, lanzaron el álbum “Demonic”, que es un álbum de thrash metal con toques death metal. - - Poco después del lanzamiento de The Gathering, el guitarrista James Murphy fue diagnosticado con un tumor cerebral. A través de diversos eventos para recaudar fondos, Murphy fue capaz de pagar la cirugía y, finalmente, se recuperó por completo. En 2001, a Chuck Billy también le diagnosticaron un tipo de cáncer llamado seminoma células germinales. Este tipo de cáncer es una rara forma de cáncer testicular, pero sólo afectó a los pulmones y el corazón de Billy. Su cáncer también fue tratado con éxito. En agosto de 2001 los amigos de Billy organizan el "Thrash Of The Titans", un concierto benéfico en el que participaron bandas como Vio-Lence, Death Angel, Exodus, Anthrax, S.O.D. y Heathen entre otros. - - En 2003 luego de la recuperación de Chuc Bill, la banda continua, ahora con un nuevo integrante al unirse John Allen. - - Durante un concierto Peterson se rompe una pierna bajando de un escenario y es substituido por el ex miembro Steve Smyth. - - En mayo de 2005 informan que iran a una gira por Europa y luego de ello también se presentan en oriente medio en Dubai. - - En febreso de 2008 lanzan el tema "More Than Meets the Eye", publicado en su página de MySpace, posterior a ello lanzo el álbum “The Formation of Damnation”, bajo el sello Nuclear Blast Records. - - Paul Bostaph en 2011, abandono definitivamente la banda luego fue el lanzamiento del álbum Dark Roots of Earth. Una semana antes del lanzamiento del Dark Roots of Earth Chuck Billy prometió que Testament no tendría "enormes brechas" entre los álbumes. - - El 13 de enero de 2014, Testament anunció en su página oficial la salida del bajista Greg Christian, y que su lugar sería ocupado por Steve DiGiorgio quien ya había sido parte de la banda. - Ver BiograFia Completa Top Artistas Metal
