Biografia The Black Keys ¿Quién es The Black Keys? - Similares en concepto a los White Stripes o a la Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, The Black Keys son un duo que hace estupendo rock garajero con pasión por la música blues-rock, explotando con talento influencias de grandes nombres de finales de los 60 y comienzos de los 70 como Free, Bad Company, la Creedence Clearwater Revival, Stooges, Cream o la Jimi Hendrix Experience, por no hablar de los gigantes clásicos del blues. - - Compuestos por el cantante y guitarrista Dan Auerbach y el batería Patrick Carney, The Black Keys se formaron en el año 2001 en la ciudad de Akron, ubicada en el estado norteamericano de Ohio. - - Un año después de su gestación la pareja publica su primer LP en el sello Alive Records, “The Big Came up” (2002), un gran disco de intenso blues-rock agarajeado en el cual aparecen sus riffs acerados guitarreros, su acrimonia sónica, la solidez en los ritmos y la magnífica voz bluesy de Auerbach en temas como “Busted”, “Countdown” o “Heavy soul”. - Incluyen también una versión del “She said She said” de los Beatles. - Al año siguiente, en Fat Possum, apareció “Thickfreakness” (2003), otro fenomenal LP garage-blues que contenía las constantes sonoras de su brillante debut. “Set me free”, “Hard row”, “Everywhere I go” o “If you see me” son algunos de sus mejores cortes. - Las composiciones de este disco y sus enérgicos directos confirmaron a los Black Keys como una de las mejores formaciones del momento dentro de la música rock. - - "Rubber Factory" (2004) confirmó su magnificencia dentro del garage-rock y el blues, con influencias de Jimi Hendrix o Cream. - Dos años después publicaron "Magic Potion" (2006).
